MASS 1500 - Massage Therapy Techniques I


This course is the first of a two-semester hands-on technique series that provides the foundation skills for Massage Therapy (MT). Students will learn a brief history of MT across multiple cultures. The course covers the foundations of Swedish massage with an emphasis on technique and development of palpation skills.  Anatomy for bodyworkers, time management, routine sequencing, and chair massage techniques are also taught.
Prerequisites: Students must be in the Massage Therapy cohort to enroll in this class.

A background check must be completed in order to enroll in any hands-on Massage Therapy courses.
Minimum Credits: 5
Grading: Letter
