MASS 1700 - Kinesiology for Massage Therapists This course will introduce the student to the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system. Students will begin the course with a detailed experience navigating the body identifying bones, bony landmarks, and “trails” as described by the textbook materials. The course will then focus on muscle origin, insertion, and action of the entire body. Focus is given to learning and palpating muscles while identifying muscle attachments, action as prime, synergist, and antagonist movers. Prerequisites: Students must be in the Massage Therapy cohort to enroll in this class. Minimum Credits: 3 Grading: Letter
