CMV 1508 - CDL Prep This course introduces students to the essential knowledge required for entry into commercial motor vehicle (CMV) operations and related technology fields. Students will build professional competencies in resume writing, communication, ethics, customer service, and computer literacy using modern browser-based tools and learning management systems. Instruction includes topics associated with entry-level driver training and an overview of the Wyoming Driver’s License Manual for Commercial & Heavy Vehicles and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations The course prepares students to obtain the Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) by covering general knowledge, air brake systems, and combination vehicle topics. It also lays the groundwork for pursuing full Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) certification and endorsements. Prerequisites: Submission of 10-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), 17 years of age, and Instructor Consent. Minimum Credits: 7 Grading: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory
