EDEC* 2275 - Early Childhood Curriculum This course explores a variety of curricula and theoretical approaches to teaching young children. Emphasis is placed on understanding the interplay of state and national regulations and standards and frameworks of developmentally appropriate practices. Students develop skills to effectively support children’s growth and development in all domains (physical, social, emotional, cognitive) as well as tools and strategies for documenting and sharing children’s progress. Students will have opportunities to analyze actual practice as well as design learning activities, environments, and assessments which focus on the whole child and address the needs of diverse learners.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisites: Completion of EDEC*1020-Early Childhood Curriculum and EDEC*1100-Observation, Guidance, and Assessment of Young Children (or concurrent enrollment in EDEC*1100).
