WELD 2620 - Creative Welding This course focuses on welding skills needed to create and fabricate a variety of art forms, using oxyfuel welding and cutting, plasma cutting, shielded metal arc welding (stick), and gas metal arc welding (wire). Safe work practices are emphasized. Individuals are encouraged to work on skills needed to suit their individual creative ends. For those students who already possess welding skills, the course provides support and advice to hone and channel their creative inclinations in the presence of a supportive group.

Minimum Student Competencies Upon completion of WELD 2620 Creative Welding, the student will:
- distinguish between safe and unsafe working environments.
- identify proper personal protection equipment required for welding.
- demonstrate safe set-up and operation of welding, cutting, iron working, and related shop equipment.
- demonstrate proper techniques to avoid smoke and fumes.
- identify weld joint designs.
- demonstrate planning, design, and completion of metal projects of a creative nature.
