MUSC 2320 - Diction for Singers I This course provides study of proper pronunciation and enunciation of the Italian and German languages for singing proposes. Standard art song and operatic repertoire in these languages is explored.

Co-requisites: none
Minimum Student Competencies Upon completion of MUSC 2320 Diction for Singers I, the student will:
- employ tools of pronunciation of song texts in Italian and German in rhythm and as they apply to singing.
- notate symbols of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as a method and application for diction in singing, reading vocal pedagogy texts, and vocal research studies.
- demonstrate accurate communication and appropriate stylistic interpretation of Italian and German texts through singing.
