CHEM 2420 - Organic Chemistry I The first semester of a two-semester sequence in organic chemistry. This course emphasizes the chemistry of carbon compounds with particular focus on organic functional groups, reaction mechanisms, and spectroscopy. Students desiring a one-semester terminal course should take CHEM 2300 (three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week).
Prerequisites: CHEM 1020 General Chemistry I
Credits: 4
